Session on Naturopathy

MSSI Hyderabad Chapter has viewed another interactive and informative session on NATUROPATHY – “Joy of Life depends on Health”

Dr. Bapuji Balijepalli (Naturopath) was invited for a talk on the importance of diet in managing MS. He is the first graduate of modern medicine in India and has given a Scientific approach to the system of Naturopathy. He believes “To live is not sufficient, we also need the joy of living and joy of living depends on Health”

Enthusiastic and deeply engrossed MS patients and caregivers have learned many new things like how animal protein triggers antibody production that results into autoimmune diseases.
Sinus was discussed in-depth as it is considered as a Silent Septic Focus.

Many things like (milk products, food containing colours, additives and preservatives) are forbidden to improve our health and prevent oneself from relapses.

The session has ended up with one to one discussion and vote of thanks.

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION

We, at Indore Chapter, had an amazing interaction with Dr. Passi (Neurologist) and Mrs. Renuka Malakar (MSSI National Secretary) on Sunday 28 July 2019 from 12 pm to 3 pm. Around 25+ PwMS and Caregivers attended at Hotel Lemon Tree, R.N.T. Marg, Indore. We also announced our working committee of all PwMS working for PwMS. There were also some wonderful creative ideas of fundraising and projects discussed even while having special Indorean lunch.

Face to Face programme

MSSI – Chennai Chapter monthly “Face to Face” Programme was held on 27-07-2019. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Alpha Khakhar practising Gynecologist, Obstetrician & Gynecologist and a Urogynecologist with an experience of 18 years.

Dr. Alpha Khakhar addressed the gathering on the topic “Multiple sclerosis and Incontinence”. She explained the connection between the brain and bladder. She also gave a case study of an actor Ms. Selma Blair an actress who is also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and lives positively with the “will power” as an example of our MSP’s. She also explained about urinary incontinence diagnosis and assessment procedure followed by the treatment process. She spoke on Diet and nutrition to try gluten-free food. And she also focused on two important aspects i.e. exercise and stress management in that she specified the “Laughter therapy”. After the session, our CSR partners – BNY Mellon volunteers conducted games for the MS person and caregivers, followed by our MS persons Ms. Banumathy, Ms. Farzana, Ms. Gomathi birthday celebrations. Everyone had delicious Snacks and the meeting came to a happy ending.
