Giving Matters 2024 – Product & Volunteer Fair was held on October 10, 2024, at Loyola College campus, Nungambakkam, organized by Chennai Volunteers. This event provided a valuable opportunity to increase awareness about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and highlight the activities of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI), Chennai Chapter. 42 organizations participated, showcasing their products at stalls, which attracted many visitors.

Since Multiple Sclerosis is a relatively rare and lesser-known disease, many attendees were unfamiliar with it. However, they showed a keen interest in learning more about MS and the various initiatives our organization undertakes to support MS patients. We distributed pamphlets to visitors and offered detailed information about MS, its symptoms, treatment options, and the support services we provide and helped to raise awareness and understanding.

The formal session of the event took place in the afternoon, featuring addresses by distinguished guests. Mr. Rajeev Mecheri, Rev. Dr. A. Lousis Arockiaraj, Principal of Loyola College, Mr. C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director of CavinKare Ltd., and Mr. KJ Praveen Kumar, IAS, Regional Deputy Commissioner (Central) of Greater Chennai Corporation, shared their insights with the attendees.

A Panel discussion followed on “Current trends in Corporate Volunteering & CSR” by Mr.Jibby Mathew, Lead (CSR), Ford Motor Company, Ms.Saisheela Rajan, Manager, Paypal Chennai, Dr.Virgil D’Samy, Executive Director, Arunodhaya in conversation with Ms.Aarti Madhusudan, Founder, Governance Counts & Principal Consultant, iVolunteer. Finally, the panellists were felicitated and followed by a Vote of thanks.
