MSSI Mumbai’s Fun-Filled MS Get-Together

On the vibrant evening of 16th May 2025, the Mumbai Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) hosted a heartwarming and energetic event in celebration of World MS Day. Held at the Royal Celebrations Banquet in Bhandup, the event was a delightful blend of entertainment, bonding, and shared stories, a much-needed respite for MS persons (MSPs), caregivers, and volunteers alike.

Warm Welcomes and Graceful Beginnings

The event commenced with a cheerful welcome by Ms. Kranti Munje, Hon. Secretary of MSSI Mumbai. This was followed by a soulful invocational dance performed by MSP Sudha Kulkarni. Her elegant and expressive performance stood as a powerful reminder that resilience and spirit can outshine physical limitations.

Sharing Journeys, Building Bonds

One of the most touching segments of the evening was the Introduction and Sharing Session. MSPs took turns introducing themselves and speaking about their MS journeys. The candid sharing fostered a deep sense of understanding and camaraderie, allowing participants to find comfort in each other’s stories and strength.

Dr. Rekha Bhatkhande, Vice Chairperson of MSSI Mumbai and Dean of Shushrusha Hospital, shared a personal highlight, her recent invitation to the Raj Bhavan as one of 30 dignitaries to witness the inauguration of the Senior Citizens’ Portal by the Honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. Her experience left the audience inspired and proud.

Games, Laughter, and Lasting Memories

Next came the much-anticipated games session. Antakshari stole the show as two lively teams sang their hearts out to evergreen melodies. This was followed by the ever-popular game of Housie, played with infectious energy and laughter. Winners walked away with exciting prizes, and the hall echoed with cheer and celebration.

Delicious refreshments were served, thanks to the generous contribution of Mrs. Surekha Nerurkar, making the evening even more enjoyable.

This get-together brought together 60 participants, including 20 MSPs, caregivers, volunteers, and members of the MSSI team. Esteemed Managing Committee Members present included:
