A Day of Care, Connection, and Cheer: MSSI Pune’s Annual Physiotherapy Camp
On 14th September 2025, the Pune Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) hosted its much-awaited annual free physiotherapy camp at Sancheti Hospital. The day was filled with warmth, energy, and community spirit as MS persons (MSPs), caregivers, doctors, and students came together for a memorable experience.
From the moment participants walked in, they were warmly welcomed and guided for consultations. Nearly 26 enthusiastic physiotherapy students joined forces with the Heads of Neuro, Physiotherapy, and Rehabilitation Departments to provide expert care and advice. In her inspiring welcome address, the HOD of Physiotherapy emphasised how physiotherapy plays a vital role in managing Multiple Sclerosis, setting a positive and empowering tone for the camp.
Adding a burst of vibrancy, students lit up the event with a lively Bollywood dance performance, instantly energising the room. MSPs then engaged in one-on-one discussions with therapists, openly sharing challenges and receiving personalised guidance tailored to their needs.
From MSSI’s side, committee member and MS person Jyoti Ronghe extended a warm welcome, while Treasurer Mr Ramani and committee member Mohana Paranjape honoured doctors with mementoes. Student volunteers, whose dedication made the event seamless, were recognised with certificates of gratitude.
The camp wasn’t just about therapy; it was about joy and connection. Group activities like musical aerobics, dance, story creation, paper boat making, and sound healing created moments of laughter, relaxation, and creativity. The day closed with a hearty fellowship lunch, where conversations flowed and friendships deepened.
With 83 participants in attendance, including 28 MSPs, caregivers, doctors, students, and MSSI members, the camp struck a perfect balance between medical support and community bonding. Everyone left with smiles, renewed energy, and a sense of optimism for the journey ahead.
