AKANKSHA: Celebrating Courage, Community and Connection on India MS Day

By February 1, 2026February 11th, 2026Hyderabad

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI), Hyderabad Chapter, marked India MS Day with the AKANKSHA programme, a heartfelt gathering that brought together people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS), caregivers and members of the MS community for an afternoon of sharing, creativity and connection.

Rooted in the theme Accept. Adapt. Achieve., the programme created a safe and uplifting space where PwMS shared their personal journeys, stories of resilience, self-discovery and hope that reflected the many ways individuals adapt to life with multiple sclerosis.

The celebration was enriched with soulful musical performances by Hema Gulati Chandra, Prof. Phani Raj and a touching song taught by Roshan’s grandfather, filling the room with warmth and emotion. Adding a creative touch, a caricature artist captured moments and memories, leaving participants with keepsakes to cherish.

The event began with a warm welcome by Chairperson Mr. Vasudev Naidu and Secretary Ms. Arti Vishal Mital, setting the tone for a meaningful afternoon. Special felicitations were presented by Co-founder Mrs. Vinodini Agarwal to Sabha Jabeen, Abhinav Illustrated (felicitated by Chitra ji) and Padma, recognising their enthusiastic participation and continued engagement with the MS community.

Shared conversations over snacks and a sumptuous lunch further strengthened bonds, reminding everyone of the power of togetherness. The afternoon concluded with music, laughter and a renewed sense of belonging, capturing the true spirit of India MS Day.

At MSSI Hyderabad, AKANKSHA was more than a programme; it was a reminder that when we come together, we accept with courage, adapt with strength and achieve with hope.
