The MSSI – Kolkata Chapter successfully organised its annual outdoor gathering during a pleasantly less humid month, bringing together people with MS, caregivers, family members and well-wishers for a day marked by inspiration, meaningful interaction, cultural exchange and warm camaraderie. The occasion also marked the flag-off of IMSD 2026, centred on the theme #AcceptAdaptAchieve, reinforcing a shared commitment to resilience and positive living.

The event was thoughtfully curated around several engaging segments, each reflecting the strength, solidarity and togetherness that define the MS community.

The programme was anchored by Mr. Anirban Banerjee, Honorary Secretary, MSSI Kolkata, and ably supported by young EC member Mr. Ayon Mohan Ghosh. Through his lively interactions with participants, Anirban ensured the session remained engaging and inclusive, creating an atmosphere that encouraged connection, conversation and collective joy.

“Mera Awaaz Suno” – Stories from the Unwavering MS Fighters

The gathering gave centre stage to the voices that matter the most — our MS fighters. Through heartfelt narratives, members shared their journeys of strength, perseverance and hope while living with Multiple Sclerosis. These stories not only inspired fellow MSPs but also reinforced the collective courage that binds the MSSI family together.

S³ – Super Solid Support: Caregivers’ Stories

A deeply moving segment followed, dedicated to the caregivers — the silent pillars behind every MS warrior. Caregivers shared their lived experiences, challenges and moments of triumph, offering a rare and honest insight into their role. Their stories resonated strongly with the audience, reminding everyone that MS is a shared journey, walked together with compassion and resilience.

CS – Celebrity Speak: Special Interactive Session

The event began on a high note with a candid and engaging interactive session with senior Bengali & Hindi actor/singer Shri Arjun Chakraborty. He spoke about his experience while shooting the iconic film “Wheelchair” sharing meaningful reflections that deeply connected with the MS community. Adding a musical touch to the morning, he delighted the audience by singing a few songs from his films, spreading joy and positivity.

Later in the day, the young politician and an old patron of MSSI – Kolkata Mr. Ashim Kumar Bose, Councillor and Member of the Mayor in Council – KMC, joined the gathering and shared words of encouragement and support for the MSSI Kolkata Chapter. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Anand Chopra, Hon. Chairman, MSSI – Kolkata, who acknowledged his presence and continued support for the MS community.

“My IQ on My Society” – Quiz on MSSI.

An interactive and lively quiz session was conducted with a special theme centred on the history, milestones and stories of MSSI. MSPs enthusiastically participated, making it both an educational and entertaining experience. Winners were rewarded with exciting prizes, adding to the festive spirit of the day, with Ayon being the quiz master.

“Anek Fankar” – Cultural Performances

The cultural segment truly showcased the many talents within the MSSI family. Titled “Anek Fankar”, the performances included songs and other artistic expressions by MS friends and their family members. The segment beautifully reflected the creative spirit, confidence and joy that thrive despite challenges.

“Petpooja Unlimited” – Fellowship Over Food

No gathering is complete without shared meals and warm conversations. The event concluded with delicious snacks, refreshments and a sumptuous lunch served to all participants. The arrangements were graciously overseen by Hon. Asst Treasurer Mr. Tarun K Saha and senior EC member – Partha P Mitra, ensuring that everyone enjoyed the meal in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere with plenty of sunlight.

Finally, a vote of thanks was delivered to all by Mr. Anil Agarwal, Hon Treasurer, MSSI Kolkata.

The annual outdoor gathering was not just an event, but a heartfelt celebration of voices, support systems, talents and togetherness. It reinforced the core values of MSSI – empowerment, empathy and community – leaving everyone with renewed strength, smiles and memories to cherish.
