By October 6, 2018October 16th, 2018Pune

A picnic was organised to Chondhe Farms near Lonikand, on Saturday 6th October 2018, a distance of about 25 Km from Kalyani Nagar.

Two Buses were hired from Penosh. Keeping in mind the MSP’s convenience, two pick up locations were fixed. One at the office address and another one at Narpatgiri Chowk Mangalwar Peth.

Two BNY Mellon volunteers picked up patients from their residence and bought them to the Kalyani Nagar bus stand and dropped them home after the picnic.

The Buses left from the office address at 10.00 am and reached picnic site 11.00 am. 18 MSPs, 22 caregivers, 15 volunteers from BNY Mellon, 5 committee members and 3 staff members i.e. a total of 63 persons attended the picnic.

In the bus, we served Chatni sandwiches and bananas to all the participants. The sandwiches and water bottles had been ordered from Mr Rohit Nigade a registered MS person who runs a catering business.

BNY Mellon volunteers helped wheelchair bound MSPs and other MSPs reach the Entertainment Hall where the entire day was to be spent. Breakfast was served at about 11.30 am. Volunteers served the breakfast to MSPs and their caregivers on their table. Everyone interacted with each other and were happy to talk and express themselves.

After breakfast, the DJ invited by Chondhe Farms presented few beautiful Bollywood songs. Our staff member Firoz Khoja and some MSPs also sang songs and entertained the audience.

Lunch was served at 1.30pm. As expected the volunteers did their best in serving the lunch to MSPs and caregivers. MSPs were very happy and enjoyed the delicious lunch.

Post lunch we had Magic show which was arranged by Chondhe Farms. The magician entertained the audience with his unique magic items. Magician involved MSPs and other audience members in his show which was very entertaining.

This was followed by games jointly conducted by Mrs Asha Merchant and Mr Laxman Iyer. Many novel ideas were there in these games and everyone participated enthusiastically.  All participants were given gifts.

Then our Committee Members Ms Gayatri Joshi and Mr Laxman Iyer put up a beautiful skit which highlighted the importance of the caregiver’s role. Both of them performed their parts brilliantly and everyone present was very touched with the act.

High Tea was served around 5.00 pm. The picnic activities ended at about 6.00 pm. The Buses left for their respective destination at about 6.30 pm.
