The Tamil Nano Workshop (TNW) is a dynamic, small-group learning initiative launched in January 2022, originally by and for the Tamil community in Saudi Arabia. Since then, it has grown into a global knowledge-sharing platform for Tamils across the world.
As part of this community-driven effort, Dr. Semmal, whose wife lives with multiple sclerosis (MS) reached out with a heartfelt request: to conduct a short, 30-minute session in Tamil to raise awareness about MS. His request was warmly received, and the session became a meaningful part of TNW’s ongoing educational journey.
Two recent awareness sessions were conducted:
- Session on March 5, 2025: Focused on raising awareness about the 41 invisible symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. These lesser-known aspects of MS often go unrecognised, yet they deeply affect the lives of those diagnosed.
- Session on March 10, 2025: Introduced the “Insure My MS” initiative, emphasising the importance of insurance and financial planning for individuals living with MS.
These sessions reflect how community-led platforms like TNW can play a powerful role in health education and support for chronic illness. Through local language and empathetic outreach, awareness is not just spread, it is felt and shared.
