By March 29, 2025May 30th, 2025Chennai

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) Chennai Chapter hosted its monthly meeting on March 29, 2025, at the YWCA of Madras International Guest House, Vepery, Chennai. The meeting’s theme, “Empowering MS through Occupational Therapy,” featured a team of therapists led by Dr. S. Loganathan, Faculty Co-ordinator from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Medical Education and Research (DU), Porur, Chennai.

The meeting emphasised the significance of empowering individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to take control of their lives. Occupational therapy plays a crucial role in this process, helping people with MS develop essential skills and strategies to maintain their independence, improve their daily functioning, mobility, and overall well-being.

The programme began at 2:00 PM with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Chitra, a committee member of MSSI Chennai Chapter. The interactive programme featured engaging activities centred around three key aspects.

  1. Fatigue Management
  2. Stress Management
  3. Cognitive Management

Attendees and caregivers thoroughly enjoyed the engaging, informative and entertaining activities. Group sessions offered opportunities for attendees to interact with experts, ask questions, and share their experiences.

The monthly meeting was a resounding success, providing a valuable platform for participants to learn from occupational therapy experts. To celebrate our MSSI members’ birthdays, a cake cutting was held, and the programme concluded with a relaxing High Tea session, allowing attendees to unwind and socialise.
