World MS Day Webcast: Improving MS Diagnosis Globally
On World MS Day (30 May 2025), the MS community came together for the impactful webcast Improving MS Diagnosis Globally to highlight the urgent need for early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS). Early diagnosis is crucial to initiate timely treatment and reduce long-term disability, yet barriers persist in 83% of countries worldwide.
The webcast featured global solutions and real-world case studies, drawing on key findings from the Brain Health – Time Matters report. An international panel of speakers, including people living with MS, neurologists, MS researchers, and representatives from leading MS organisations, shared their insights and innovative approaches to improving MS diagnosis worldwide.
World MS Day – An Overview
World MS Day is observed annually on 30th May, serving as a powerful platform to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and to stand in solidarity with the 2.9 million people living with the condition worldwide. This day is dedicated to fostering global unity, celebrating resilience and inspiring hope for a brighter future.
Initiated by the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) in 2009, World MS Day aims to ignite a global movement advocating for those affected by MS. Each year, we embrace a unique theme and for 2025, our focus is ‘Navigating MS Together.’ This theme underpins the MS Connections campaign, which is committed to strengthening bonds within communities, enhancing self-awareness and promoting access to quality care.
World MS Day is more than just an observance. It’s a call to action. It’s an opportunity to advocate for improved services, celebrate the invaluable support networks and champion the importance of self-care.
Join us in this movement. Let’s connect, support and ensure that no one living with MS is left behind.
