Landmark Illumination | World MS Day - Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI)

To commemorate World MS Day 2026, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI), Chennai Chapter, led a statewide awareness campaign by illuminating prominent landmarks and government buildings across Tamil Nadu in Orange the global colour symbolising Multiple Sclerosis (MS) awareness.

Held on 30th May 2026, the initiative aimed to shine a spotlight on Multiple Sclerosis, an often-invisible neurological condition, while fostering greater public understanding and expressing solidarity with Persons with MS (PwMS) and their families. The vibrant orange illuminations served as a powerful visual reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, access to quality healthcare, and creating a more inclusive society.

The campaign brought together several iconic public landmarks,

Commissionerate for the Welfare of Differently Abled

Nagapattinam Collectorate Building

Their participation reflected a shared commitment to raising awareness and supporting the MS community. The glowing landmarks captured public attention, encouraged conversations about Multiple Sclerosis, and reinforced the message that people living with MS deserve understanding, accessibility, and equal opportunities. This collaborative initiative demonstrated how government institutions and community organisations can work together to advance awareness and advocacy.
